I have a h&r in .308 heavy barrel and sometime it missfires after a couple of shots.. Is there anyone knows something on these rifles that could help me, i heard some bad hammer spring and headspace problems... I really like that rifle, id love to get it fix

One of the most common issues is that if you don't have full follow-through with the trigger the transfer bar might interfere with the hammer. That happens if you don't pull the trigger all the way to the rear. It's a possibility.

Yeah i tried that one pulling on the trigger to full with no results, i compared the mark the firepin made on the primers of those that misfired to those that fired and there is a visible difference, like if the hammer wasnt striking enough

Also starts to happen when these are dry fired.

In the meantime try a bit of gun cleaner and a q-tip to clean the transfer bare area...sometimes grunge and such can hang up the transfer bar.

The problem can be grit in the transfer bar area causing slight hammer strikes, or it could be a soft hammer spring, or it could be a headspace issue.

Use an aerosol bore/action cleaner in the transfer bare area, really flush it out good, then a light coat of Rem Oil, then wipe away excess oil and run it dry thereafter. You can visually check for marks indicating glancing contact between the hammer and transfer bar. If the problem is weak hammer spring and you are using a hammer spur, remove the spur, many times the difference in weight takes care of the light strikes... if the problem is a headspace issue (usually not off by more than a couple thou) and you are a reloader try using fireformed brass and neck size only... 9 times out of ten the problem is solved... if you don't reload, try Remington ammo... it generally has a thicker case than Win and you can feel the difference when inserting into the chamber... set back of the barrel is possible, I have done it many times, but requires refitting the barrel, which while not difficult is further than most would go on a clear warranty issue... which is your next step if the problem persists.

Ill look over cleaning and inspecting the spring, i already shoots remington ammo in it, by spur, do you mean hammer extender? Yes i have one on it

Try removing the hammer extension first... sometimes bobbing the hammer is done to increase hammer speed and strike.
