H&R Excell Auto mag plug

Good Day All,

I purchased a Excell Auto on the EE that is missing the mag plug. A Butler Creek replacement plug still allows 3 rounds to be loaded into the mag. Can anyone tell me what the plug length is or provide a source of an actual H&R plug.

Can I simply use a piece of wood dowel of the correct length?

Measure the overall inside length of the mag tube.then measure the total length of 2, 3" shells deduct that from the oal what ever measurement is left will be the length of the plug.

Thanks for the response, I assume a wood dowel will suffice? Can you provide the 2 X 3" measurement? I don't have any 3" 12ga.

2 -3" shells will nomally measure 5.125"
