H&R Excell Auto

I just bought one from Cabellas should have it this week. I read up on it and no negative comments, some very positive. Time will tell.

Bought one a couple of years ago. I love it, never once caused me any grief, it just works. Not sure how it's going to hold up 15 to 20 years down the road, but I can't see why it wouldn't.

no problems with mine so far

There are a few different versions of this gun

Oldest style has humpback design like a franchi

middle design (pre remington purchase of H&R) rounded receiver and VERONA SX style chokes (this one I have)

Newest design- same as middle, but Remchoke chokes.... GET THIS ONE.

Mine is a Walnut stock, one of only two I know of in Canada

I purchased one (auto-turkey) from Lebarons back in May and have no regrets, works with all types of ammo, great firearm for the price. The saleman informed me that sinse Remington took over H&R they would not be importing these firearms do to their competitive price with Remingtons products.

I checked one out at epps a few months back. It seemed like a pretty well built gun for the price. I was just about to get one when a used SX3 popped up for a good deal, otherwise i'm sure I would be happy with an excell.

Excellent, I was looking for my first shotgun and was considering the Benelli Supernova but after happening on the same deal at Le Baron I might pick one up. Are there any other firearms in the same category as the Excell - Great Value and Well Made?

Mossberg 930 is about as good as it gets for me.

I looked at the HR and well it looked and felt good, my concern was with longevity and parts availability in the long run.

I have had the 930 for about 6 months now and put all kinds of cheap target loads through it without an issue.

I got the Duck/Deer combo for $500 + tax.
