I know there have been countless threads about economic semi auto shotgun reliability, so I am not looking at comparing all economic models. I have just heard about the h&r excell. I checked one out at epps. For $383 the price seems great. Fit and finish seems almost identical to the weatherby. I am thinking of getting one and would just like to hear from any of you that own one. Has anyone heard of any changes in quality control since h&r was taken over by marlin and now marlin being taken over by Remington?

check out shotgun world in the h&r and the verona forums

only change after remington takeover is switch from verona chokes to remchoke.. no quality issues, because its still made in turkey

before that the change was from semi humpback to rounded style receiver

I like mine. Goes bang every time

made in Sarsilmaz Turkey.... you can google it and see what they make that isnt being imported.

btw. 2010 is the last batch... they are now being imported by USSG as SARSA

I purchased one last fall from Lebarons. For a sub $350 shotgun I was very impressed, it is lightweight and so far has not malfunctioned once for me. The overall fit and finish is very good also.
