H&R rifles?

I shoot full loads, 350 grain Hornadys out of my Handi!

I have no Idea the ill effects that may come, but you do not want to shoot it that much I can tell you that much.

A 45-70 is actually a fairly low intensity cartridge; so how many shots do you get out of your brass before you get a case head separation?

There was/is a problem with some of them opening on firing, i watched a guy with one in 22-250 and every time he fired it, it would open and close slightly, can't be a good thing. As an aside, i don't like any of these break actions when doing alot of bench shooting, they must be kept open for safety purposes at times and they sit awkwardly on the bags, just waiting to fall off, and onto the ground, this goes for the TC as well.

My question is, has any one handloaded for the higher pressure cartridges? If so, how was case life. The very design of break action rifles should preclude the use of high intensity cartridges without substantial springing of the action. I've often thought that one in 30-06 would be a perfect way to experience this misery.:nest:

I load the 500SW right up and have not experienced any problems except a sore shoulder after 20 or so rounds. I believe this round is the highest pressure commercially available, 60k psi IIRC.
