H&R Single Shots any Good??

Had one in 204 with Hornandy ammo was deadly accurate. I let a friend at work use it once and he was totaly blown away buy the accuracy. Wish H&R would produce them in 7.62x54r & 7.62x39.

Indeed, also I'd love to see them made in 6.5x55 Swede. :)

I'd be very happy with some in .25-20, 25-35 and .375 Win.
Oh..to dream! ;)

For me, the worst thing about Handi-Rifles is they don't make one in .303British.

I sure hope the H&R single shots are good, I bought one the other day in .243 Win. It's going to be my new tractor gun, just put a Barska 3-9X40mm scope on it this evening. Not sure just when I'll get a chance to do some shooting with it and sight it in, but I'll report back when I do.

I saw one at the sussex gun show in new brunswick in 500s&w. I thought hard about it lol. Passed it up though. Only one I have ever seen though.

I recently got an H&R Huntsman .58 cal. front stuffer from a fellow CGN'r that's
in almost new condition. It's a model from the early 70's that has a push-out
breech plug. I changed out the rear sight for a Marbles bullseye sight, and
replaced the front sight with one from a Rossi Ranch Hand.

I love the way this rifle feels and holds for offhand shooting and can hardly wait
to get my Lee bullet mold for the bugger. I'll sweat out some minor dings on the
maple stock and give'er a few coats of Tru Oil in the meantime.
I'm gonna get more H&R singles in future. I dig'em.:)

A lot of 9.3x62's have anywhere between 1-14 to 1-16 and have no issues. The original "Whelan" plus.............Harold

the ones that we had trouble with were all bought new in the early 90's. Some would jump open when fired, some had the barrel hindge knuckle break or come loose, and with some the fired cartridge would stick in the chamber. Perhap those bugs have been ironed out since. Has anyone else had any of these problems?
