I'm having some troubles with an H&R slug hunter that was purchased new.
It has had light primer strikes about 80% of the time. I tried fileing down the stop on the hammer with no change. It was then sent out to a local gunsmith who ground the hammer down some more. He also tweeked the transfer bar (his words) but the proublem persisted. It was then sent back to the store it was purchased from, they had it fixed under warranty. It came back with a new hammer and transfer bar. There is still no change, the gun only fires about 20% of the time the rest of the time there is just a very light dimple on the primer. Also this has happened with about 6 different types of ammo. If any experts out there can shed a little light on the problem I would greatly appreciate it.
