Well I was at P&D today, one day after their shipment of H S rifles hit the store, like a feeding frenzy in there. can't believe the number of $3000.00 rifles they sold today. Handled a few myself, there are a couple of thumbhole varmints in 22-250 and 204 ruger, WOW are they ever nice, might have to look at the 204 more closely on Monday. FS
 
I took a look at one of the HS Precision rifles in WSS on Friday night. It's okay, but I didnt really care for it that much. I'm sure there are nicer models than the one I looked at. Like everything else, I'm sure it's someone's ball of wax, just not mine.
 
Owned an HTR & loved it, however HS has failed to have parts & accessories easily & readily available to Canada..Even in the US, they are not easy to find.

What was the more popular chamberings sold? Always interesting to see what is selling...
 
Gate I spend alot of time there but I'm not on the payroll.

Steve what kinds of parts and accessories would you want to put on an HS rifle?

The tacticle stuff in 308 is always in demand, hunting stuff in calibers larger than 270.

I heard that a couple cancelled a trip to Jamaica so they each could buy an HS rifle

Fasteel: I sold my .300Win HTR to my friend, but spare mags, even stocks to fit 700's are scarce.
I had to buy my picatinny rail aftermarket.

No way man, them Loopy's are in no way better than the superb Barska Tactical scope I have on my Stevens!

Plus let's not forget that HS Precision stands for "Hopefully Some precision" whereas Stevens are always precise!!!

Just to add my 2 cents (or rather, my $2,750), earlier this year I purchased a HS Precision PHR in .270 Win. While some here seem to be less enamoured with HS, I don't know why. The rifle I bought is, without question, the finest sporting arm that's ever graced my collection (and trust me, it's been quite a collection). The accuracy is excellent, the balance perfect (for me, at least), and the trigger phenomenal. Even the action itself has a lovely, confidence building precision feel to it. It is IMHO "the" rifle I've been looking for over two decades. Now, 35 animals later (you gotta love safaris!), I have a hard time even considering any of the other rifles in the safe when it's time to go hunting for anything that doesn't have long claws and canines.

For sure, you can buy a whole lot of Stevens rifles for the same price. But for those who don't mind spending a big wad of cash on one good rifle, I really can't recommend them enough. Certainly, HS isn't the only premium option worth considering. But it sure did the trick for me.

And yes, I bought it at P&D (thanks Phil!).
