H1000 and 458 win mag

The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook is a good source for reduced loads. Blue Dot provides very good results with 400gr jacketed bullets in my .458 Lott at 1350 fps MV. Should also work fine in the .458 Win. Mag. and the amount needed is quite economic.

I use Re19 with 500gr bullets (not quite as slow - #122 on the burn rate scale vs. #140 for H1000) in my .458 Lott. Compressed load and muzzle speed is around 1800 fps. Not sure how H1000 would do - likely a lower muzzle speed??

I tried this combo (RL-19/500 grain bullet) in my 458 Win mag today. Slightly compressed at 70 grains. Seemed to work fine.
