Last year I was gifted a few pounds of H100V.
I used it in a few cartridges, and had both good and bad results.
Over the last year, since I first started using H100V, I've become more familiar with its burn rate and curve.
It's very slightly slower burning than IMR4350, and appears to have a longer dwell time at peak pressure, thereby lengthening the higher pressure curve before dropping off the cliff.
I really like IMR4350 and have several pounds on hand, as well as a few variants with similar burn rates, including WC852 (H450).
All of them are excellent, butttttt H100V has one feature which makes it very desirable, especially for those trying to squeeze as much accuracy out of their loads as possible.
It has an extremely consistent burn rate. It's not listed as being temperature stable but it appears to be from the readings given off by my Garmin Xero 1.
The extreme spreads on five different cartridges, 6.5x55, 8x57, 7x57, 270 Win and 280 Remington, have all been under 20fps. With the 7x57 and 280Rem both showed extreme velocity spreads at 13fps, according to my notes.
That's incredible.
The other good thing about H100V is that it's still available in a lot of LGS and big box outlets at reasonable rates (by today's prices)
I haven't seen it offered in 8 pound jugs but it's likely out there.
