H2 Buffers...anyone using them in MK18 style rifles?

Noted. Thanks

I'll fish for a bit on the EE then order one.

You should be running an H2 regardless of barrel lenght if you shoot 5.56 spec ammo, but especially so with the short barrels.

I'm not big on powder buffers, they don't do as good a job as the standard configuration's moving solid weights, their purpose is to prevent BCG bounce.

Who actually carries H2 buffers in stock in Canada? Something I can actually order off a website would be great....Also does it matter what brand or type I use in the buffer tube that comes on the DD MK18?

I have some .223 55gr and 5.56 62gr bulk so Id like to see how an H2 would work

While I don't have a MK18, I have a DD 11.5". With it I use a XH Carbine Buffer (8.5 oz) from HeavyBuffers.com

It cycles with everything I've tried through it (55 gr of all sorts, 62 gr, 70 gr, 77 gr).

Brownells has them for pretty cheap right now, even if the dollar is crap.

Thanks I have another small part I wanted to order from them, so adding a buffer will make shipping more worth it.

Now is there a specific brand you suggest?

The only other company I could find that has them in Canada on their website is Arms East and they sell a Stag Arms one
Is this any good?

Stag Arms/Arms East are good to go, but call to make sure they actually have what you want in stock. Otherwise Brownells has Colt, and you can't get better than that. They're really well priced too, $36.99 for the H3 and $37.99 for H2, H2's were $44.99 not too long ago when I got one.

Thanks I went with the Colt, and it gave me an excuse to order some other little parts at the same time

Looks like I got greedy and ordered too much at once, they Emailed me a "end user statement" to fill out before they can ship my order because its over $100. It does say they can ship up to $500 now with that statement filled out though so thats nice, they had alot of other little parts I wanted, like ambi mag release, easier to remove takedown pins, etc

Ran a standard H buffer and a Spikes T2 today. Other than a sharper impulse, I had no FTF or FTE issues with both Tula and Win 55gr FMJs.

Went out with the DD Mk18 yesterday. Despite the 2km trek in 3ft snow I had a pretty good experience. One question though...

Does anyone have the "chart" where it shows where the brass should be deflecting to? I had them flying about 10ft to the 4 o'clock position with M193... Doesn't really bother me, I found there wasn't a huge recoil pulse.

This chart?

That would be perfect ejection (and I'm not reffering to the chart here).

But don't get carried away by the ejection pattern chart, as long as it ejects reliably, you're GTG. My LMT's eject 5.56 at 4, but they eject the Hornady Match 223 stuff at 2. It doesn't matter.
