Decided to try H4350 and 90gr eldx’s and the results were surprisingly fast. I ran a quick ladder test for velocity from 41.8gr to 43.9gr and my velocities (22” barrel) started at 3137fps up to 3293fps . This is notably faster than Hornady’s factory load, and the velocities in the Hodgdon website with no signs of pressure. Has anyone tried this combination and had these results? I am missing something, should I be concerned? Also note I have not verified accuracy with any of these loads so may not be worth keeping this combination regardless.

Why would you shoot loads and not check for accuracy at the same time? Unless you just like wasting your components and time! So all that was learned, is the velocities. Oh well, back to the loading bench.

Depending the distance you are shooting speed is still important. H4350 is a stable powder. Factory loads are often low compared to box data. They don’t push the envelope, worried about litigation stateside as I understand it.

What are you hunting(how large are the vitals)? What distances will you be hunting at? What is the minimum velocity for effectiveness of chosen bullet? Will you be hunting in windy conditions?
