At 10:30 this morning I get a text from a friend who says Higginson is showing 8 pounders of H4350. We bought 16 lbs and split.

At 1:30 pm they are showing none. This is getting weird.

They have some others in stock as well that were not there before.

Price on the 4350 was a bit gougy at $359 while the other rifle powders are $270.

No wonder people hoard up stuff. It may be another year or more before powders are easy to find again esp with this covid deal and the US election.

Yup. Higginson always has the best price. The 4350 may have been more expensive coming in the door for them so their price would reflect that.

To be fair, many of their lower priced powders are repackaged bulk. Quite a few that are not are similarly priced.

Still shows it on the powder sheet. Too bad I just picked one 8lb up at Cabela's. But probably cost the same after shipping.

Ordered some IMR 4064 and some H110 yesterday.
It should be enough to hold me over till spring.

Spoke to a guy over there who said they haven’t seen Retumbo or Varget since March.
There were other places that had it for $60/lb.
I refuse to pay that but someone else snatched it up.

Was just reading a post elsewhere, Mon or Tues , fella called Hodgdon, said they'd shipped 55,000 lbs of Varget in the last three wks in the US, more on the way. Still lots of people down there can't find any.

I'd buy some more Varget as well if it came in just have a bit of a buffer from running out.

I got my 8 pounder of H4350 tonight from the fellow I split the shipping with.:dancingbanana:

I don't know how these reloading suppliers are keeping their doors open. I bought some H322 and H335 yesterday at Higginson, but they really don't have anything to sell. X-Reload is the same. The shelves are bare.

I have a good supply of powder and primers, but most bullets I have are not currently replaceable and I don't see prices ever going back down to "normal".

I buy something every few weeks, needed or not.

Bullets, primers, powder and brass. If I go into a store and see something I could potentially use, I buy it and put it on the shelf.

Bought a couple of hundred 6.5 PRC brass from Prophet River last week, and I don't have a 6.5 PRC yet.

Some call it hoarding I guess, but the prices on this stuff never goes down. I'll use it all sooner or later, especially as my kids get old enough to start shooting.

2 days ago one of my favourite online gun shops was showing H-4350 for sale in 8lb (about 3 in stock, under $400 for 8lb! Wow!), and 1lb (couple dozen or so, I forget the price). Initially I thought no, this must be a website mistake. H-4350 is unobtainium. Archeologists are setting up new studies on the demise and extinction of H-4350. Empty containers will soon be museum artifacts.......but wait.....no it was not a website error! It was for real, and in-stock! It exists! I snapped up one 8 pounder, and emailed my Range buddies on the stock availability. Today I checked and its all gone.

It has gotten to the point for some powders where it requires a daily web scan to see what's in stock. Hesitate a day or two and its gone.

A quick scan of a few web stores today reveals another Canadian supplier has 1lb and 8lb containers of H-4350, ($460 for the 8lb! That's a little too steep IMO). Varget 1lb is also in-stock today in some stores, again rather steep, some might say outrageous prices.

Strange times.
