I'm going to be loading for the .257 Roberts AI and was wondering which of these powders would be the better choice. I'll be using 75gr V-Max mostly and won't go over a 100gr bullet.

I`ve never loaded for a 257 AI Roberts but it should be approaching the 25-06 and both work in that cartridge. Will be a matter of trying both, thats half the fun in a new purchase.

Don't and haven't either, but those powders seem to be preferred for 100 and up grain bullets. At least on Reloader's Nest and Steve's Reloading pages.
No 75 grain data, on either page, for those powders. One guy on Reloader's Nest is claiming 3680 fps with 54 grs of H414 out of a Douglas barrel. I wonder if the bullets would hold together at that speed.

I push 20gr V-Max bullets out of a 1-10 twist at over 4200fps so I'm hoping the 75gr V-Max will hold together out of the 1-10 twist I'll be using for this rifle.

KDX; the H4350 would be the better choice for the 75 grain pill.
However, when you step up to 100 grains and above, you may find the H4831 is the best ticket. Regards, Eagleye.
