H4895

Small quantities of H4895 have been showing up on shelves recently, but it doesn't stay there long.

I bought 20 lbs of D4895 when Canada Ammo was selling it. It's not exactly the same as H but it scratches the same itches. If I had known what was coming I would have bought more.

My understanding is that the Dominion was a non canister run of IMR4895, so I'm treating it that way and not going for the 60% loads like the H.

That's correct. I down load the IMR variety too, but not as far.

H4895 is hands down the best powder in my 6.5 Grendel for accuracy with 123 and 129 grain bullets.

I wish I was quicker on the ball with that dominion powder. I would have stocked up on lots of it. Doesn't matter to me if it's non canister grade.

Hopefully it's available again at some point.

It was a "surplus overrun" which was bought up by Canada Ammo and repackaged. Canada Ammo is no more and I doubt we will be seeing much in the surplus types for a while.

Hogdgon doesn't list a H4895 in a sc version. The powders that are (e.g, 4831 and 4831sc as stated above), stands for Short Cut, and are for made for better metering. Otherwise are the same.
