Had a great trip

[Titan 08]

I spent a week with my brother in law hunting just north of Waskateneau, Alberta. During the week we each got a 145" class whitetail,
saw numerous other deer and also got a nice moose. But one of the highlights of the trip was when on a trail near a pond system, we had
an otter come onto the trail in front of us. Only the second I have ever seen in Alberta. We had a couple of Ermine near our moose kill
and some really nicely furred Coyotes. The biggest highlight was when we had a mother lynx with four kittens walk out beside our
J.D. Gator, too far for a photo, but close enough to get a really good look through our binoculars. The five lynx came out of a spruce
pocket and crossed into another one. They were just beautiful. Just wondering how many other sighting of not normally seen
animals some of you might have had. Makes me realize why I love the out doors so much.

Only a cell phone, no time for pictures and out of photo range. Normal moose, 2 1/2 years and two 5x5 W.T.
The country is crown land around long Lake, open to everybody

Friend of mine hunts that area fairly often. It's pretty country for sure.

Personally I always like to see wolverine; to me they look like a cross between a bear and a badger.* (have to go further N to see them) That and those red martens. Always used to see one every trip while stream fishing in the Cypress Hills.

*except that one day while packing out a moose in stages, ran right in front of me(as in 3') and scared the crap out of me. I looked at wife and said, "Good thing he wasn't hungry, eh?"

Sounds like a great adventure. I have seen a Lynx with up to 4 kittens on about a half dozen occasions. Definitely a real treat to see. Congratulations on your hunting adventure.

I forgot to mention the big black bear that tried to get into our trailer at 4:30 in the morning while we were sleeping on our elk hunt near Woking, Alberta
in September of this year. Two older gents, outside in our tight whites, one with a rifle and the other with bear spray. I don't know what scared the bear off,
the sight of us or all the noise we made. I was thinking of scaling back my hunting this year, but it was such a great year my interest is back where it should be.
I have to get a good hunting camera for next season.

We had a fox in our camp, I had a lot of fun chasing him around the truck. He was bold and cheeky, he smelled dad's deer and even ate the fur that was lying around.
