Since I've responded to just about every winchester 1300 thread I've seen with nothing but good things to say about the shotgun I figured it was fair to post this.
After a year and a half and around 2000 to 2500 rounds of wally world value pack 7 1/2's and maybe 4 box's of hunting shells, all 2 3/4 not 3" mags, I've had a mechanical failure! The spot weld on the left slide arm (I guess that's what you call it) has cracked. It was not a poor penetrating weld there was a crack through the entire weld. The weld itself might have had internal cracks but who knows.
It might have been noticed sooner but can't say I ever inspected it while I was cleaning. I was not even the one who noticed it. I brought it out to the lgs for a complete tear down and cleaning. It was during this that it was seen. They are going to replace the part for free, its 80 bucks, and i should have it back in a few days.
I still wouldn't trad the gun for an 870!!
