Had the Savage out to the Range Yesterday

That's the ticket Jerry,
And for JuanValdez, of course the rifle looks small in my hands.... That's how I stay Buff, you walk 15 K just to shoot 30 rounds and see what kind of shape you're in... LOL.

With each picture, there are 4 coding options. Click on the "direct link" line and copy that destination.

In your post body, click on the IMG icon which is the square with a mountain/moon (2nd from right). A box will come up with the Http highlighted, paste over that and click ok.

The image should now pop up in the post body.

or select the 4th coding option (IMG code) and paste that :)

Im glad to see someone posting their success with the 12 VLP cause mines on backorder right now, cant wait to put my Sightron 8-32x56 on and go shooting, allthough Im not a handloader, yet...

Haagen, in order to get the most out of that VLP you're going to need to get into reloading. you'll need to surf through some of the threads on precision reloading as well.
Good luck.

I love my Savage 12 VLP DBM in .223 rem. Had it since April and about 1400 rounds through it so far.

I haven't had a chance to put it on paper beyond 100 yards, just steel out there. Out to 822 yards with good hits through a 6"x6" trapdoor. I really need a target camera.

Here is a you tube of that.

I think I have a target camera setup that I just need to work out the power supply for. Will be able to transmit and capture on the laptop from 1000 yard range I hope. The Video Audio transmitter is 4w and line of sight should be 2500m (advertised and calculated)
Have to wait till summer and a nice day. Don't want to kill the laptop. Hopefully better feedback from the targets and save time and legs.
So far the 75 grain a-maxes are working nice and it helps with the high BC for the drift.

Can't wait to get out again.
Check out this video with a savage in .223 and awesome swirl. It not mine but found it on the tube.

Does anyone have an opinion on bedding the Savage 12 vlp dbm. I am undecided. Mine shoots anywhere from .800 to .285 MOA groups depending on the bullet weight and load.
Currently the best was from the 69 gr Sierra HPBT and the Hornady 68gr BTHP. The 75's seem to shoot in the .500 to .800 MOA.
