Haenel SLB2000+ Help Requested

Not really a logical choice, but I probably missing something here.

Step by step - semiauto in .223 means it's paper, you are not going to hunt with it right? Now why would anyone want a .223 semi auto of very obscure brand when you have plenty of known varians? Probably because its gonna be non restricted. If you want a non-restricted semi auto in 223 it means you want to go into the woods with it. So its target shooting in a woods - is that the goal?

SLB is not a good idea for that. You can't even field strip it in a field so to speak. In order to field strip SLB you need 3 hands and tools to even open the receiver. It has small parts falling out of it as you disassemble it.

You can see it in action here

It is awkward looking, with bunch of small pieces, not so accurate, not so cheap, not very proven, not very resilient gun you don't really want to take into the woods with you. I wouldn't.

I would rather look at Tavor and Swiss Arms for WAY better semi .223 non restricted. Or at CZ 557 for light bolt .223 rifle. Or at proper bolt action varmit .223.

SLB 2000 in .223 just does not make any sense, well unless you shoulder it and it feels like true love, which I doubt very much.

The goal of target shooting in the woods is to have a good time. I much prefer heading out to a cut block where I can set targets out at varying distances and at inclines/declines etc. It is far more fun to practice in that environment, for a whole bunch of reasons.

I have nothing against shooting in the woods for fun. I'm all for it!

My point is that SLB is not fitted to that, unless you will never dissemble or clean it outdoors. With Tavor or Sig you will have much better, simpler and more rugged .223 semi auto non restricted.

With CZ 858 or sks or you will have much more fun plinking and it will be much better, simpler and more rugged semi auto non restricted.

PS

If you want to have semi auto in .223 not looking like "sturmgewehr" I can suggest Merkel SR1, much better in my books than SLB 2000 anyway:
