Hey gents,

With regret, I cannot host Haggisfest this year. :(

Chateau Popcan is being torn down, (actually it's being moved) to make way for a new and bigger retirement chateau Popcan next spring.....
:)dancingbanana: )

Plus, Mrs Popcan broke her leg very badly just below the knee while snowmobiling - on the last ride of the year - so she is still healing (still not even walking yet) and needs a lot of extra time and attention these days. :runaway:

I was hoping someone else could step up to the plate and host it this year... maybe permission could be obtained to use the parking lot for campers etc right at the range...?

Haggisbasher might be able to come up with some ideas too....

It would be a shame to break the tradition, as it keeps getting better every year!

C'mon boys,.. ........Who's gonna take it on?

ah so the rumors were right.

Give my best wishes to Mrs Popcan, broken bones suck at the best of times.

well if haggisbasher will cancel his frequent trips to england just to to drink scotch adn visit old friend and perhaps this time stick around for a shoot we may salvage HF4, Perhaps I can round up some canvas, god knows I've lived under canvas enough over the years.

Where is Otto hiding these days? If he or Ken could make arrangements for booking the range I am sure finding a spot to camp will not be too big of a problem.

Hell, there is a good sized campground right in 100 Mile House itself that would work. It would also let the young stubble-jumpers have a chance to get close to some of the corpulent beauties they seem to favour................

ah crap, now all were going to hear about is armdsask and his superior babe stalking skills :D

I'm up for it again(if it is ok), with heavily scaled back alcohol use. I have also significantly "armed up" since the last go around. Best wishes to Mrs.Popcan, hope her leg heals well and soon.

Aww...man...Shame for Mrs Popcan!! Give her my best..I'd cook somethign for her but it's little ways to go and keep food hot!:)

We need uninhibited acess to a lake if we are to put it togehter this year...Remenber how damn hot it was? And the lake is a good place to toss fallenrock when he gets all loopy.

Sorry to hear about the Mrs, that's a real shame. Give her my best wishes. :)

As for the Chateau, moving it to an undisclosed location so Tod can't find it this year is pure genius!! :D

Honest TB, I'm not trying to hide the chateau from you!

I'm going to be busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockers this year... not only with the new house project up north, but also fixing up, selling, and downsizing on the coast too.

The old Chateau won't be very far away, as my neighbor is taking it. He's going to gut it and turn it into a garage.

Seriously, if someone is going to try to make this happen, you'll need a member of the Lone Butte Range to be involved to get permissions and keys etc... Maybe Otto will show up here and post something, or Cariboo Kid....(How 'bout it Andrew?)....

Anyhow, here is what Mrs Popcan's leg looked like after the docs went in..... 30 something staples.

There's some serious hardware inside, with bone from her hip to buttress the plate, and ligament damage etc. No cast, so she could maintain movment in the joint. (CPM machine shown here, to assist motion).

Otto and I are both looking at moving north in the near future. My move isn't guaranteed yet, but I can't be making any plans that would let down a pile of people in the event that I needed to cancel. :(

Otto may still be able to help make it happen, I'm not sure.

When I broke my knee in a motorcycle accident they had to put a plate in, and I wasn't able to maintain movement in it during the initial healing stages. Using that machine was agonizing afterwards and I never regained the full range of movement.

It sounds like she was worse off than me, but if there is a bright side it would be that she should have full use of her knee in the future. I feel for her, and wish her a speedy recovery.
