Hahahaha..supprise...that aint a road..

Well, how are you going to know your vihicles capabilities if you don't get stuck a few times first?

The seeds of ultimate success are many failures...

I had the pleasure of driving a tow truck for many years. I learned from other peoples mistakes. Cost way less that way.

Also, I would never put my truck anywhere i wasnt positive I could drive out of, unless there was another vehicle with me that would be capable of hauling me out.

I have never needed a tow truck to haul me out of the woods!...between shovel/manpower or winch power or chain/strap and another vehicle to pull we have managed to get our selves as well as other people that were stuck back in motion! Traveling in groups by truck or ATV is always a good idea just in case S##t happens for sure!

Yep, lots of people buy 4x4's and never leave the pavement...where's the fun in that? After you get stuck a few times you soon learn to at least carry a jack-all, some cable and a come along.
Heck, I've driven my old Bronco across creeks on logs tied together....been stuck many times, never needed to call a tow truck to get out though.

Actually hunting does not get my friends and I into as much trouble as ice fishing does! Driving on the south basin of Lake Winnipeg chasing giant walleyes from January to March is a true test of how good you are at getting unstuck!

oh I never said that I never get stuck....

I spent 10 years working in forestry, there was one contract where we were using the winch and jackalls every day for about a month in the spring.

you get real good at un-stucking yourself.

oh and I carried 100' of spare whinch cable, 2 chains 25' each, 2 snatch blocks, tow rops, tow straps, 2 spare tires, jackall, and some lighter rope.

it was always on friday afternoon that you would get stuck the worst....

now I don't get stuck often, but it can still hapen.

I thought good hunters have good tyres

Obviously i am mistaken
I don't know where you unt, but that is not what I see. The vast majority of vehicles I see in the bush (plated and hunting) are barely worth anything, I have come to the conclusion that everyone figures just leave it there if it gets stuck or broke down

No kidding. The only thing thats getting that truck out is a skidder or excavator.

In the last week I've seen pics of an excavator and a buncher from two different areas that have broken through winter roads over muskeg...... Multiple days with multiple pieces of iron to retrieve them.

Pretty tough to use a jackall or shovel to dig your way out or lift, when there might not be anything resembling firm ground until you hit the clay layer 2 or 3 or 5 meters down......
it's a little different when you are comparing many tons of weight to a pickup unless the ground pressure is identical on both vehicles.

build something beyond your needs in the area you hunt. I got stuck once in muskeg and knew what I needed to build, no problems since.

I owned a Samurai at one time too....I've never had a problem in getting stuck!!!
Nice hunting buggy you got there :)

If you want to go offroad always be prepare for the worse, carry extra blankets, recovery gears, have proper tire and judgment. Know your vehicle limits. How many people do we see being stuck on snowy road because they tought all they need is a 4x4 truck.

Here's a good hilarious exemple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuTXUcoGdhw

Lol..not drinking beer woulda been a good first step for these fellas.

I got stuck on a road i was on yesterday with my toyota.
today i was in my 3/4 Ton 4×4

But i backed back onto the lease...cleared
a bit of snow for a nice work spot

Installed my wheel chains and went happily on my way;)

brian, most of the hunters by me just drive the gravel roads
its my english sarcasm

I got stuck in the middle of my lawn wednsday night and it took 5 hours to get it out of there. Sunk right to the axles and my stupid winch decided to not work. My wife is not happy with the new landscaping that I had to do.

I have two Ruts down the side of my yard from hauling wood. Need to get it rolled in the spring. Was spinning but got to the wood pile and back. It was as close as I've ever been stuck without a plan.
