...Greetings. I have recently acquired this HAKIM .22 trainer Made in Italy by Beretta . It is in excellent condition other than missing 1 screw and needing the correct .22 magazine. The plate on the stock has 1-11-56 as well as what I am told is Hebrew writing . I was told that this is 1 of 2 known to be captured by Israel in the Suez crisis of 1956. Can someone out there read the script on the plate ? I am also seeking a value of this historical piece. Thank-you.

I translated the Hebrew plaque in this other thread where one popped up as ‘Memento – captured in Operation Sinai, 27 Brigade [date].’

Only two; who told you this? Possible, but I'm thinking it was probably a ware-house full captured and they were all issued as souvenirs. There are some differences in these examples in how and where the plaque is set and engraved, so who knows. Still not likely to be common, particularly in Canada (unless an importer grabbed the whole shebang back in the day as a surplus deal…).
