A while back I posted a thread on hakims, asking about value. Now, here's one I'm wondering about specifically:

hakimsmall.jpg

I checked it out and other than the shortened stock (the front barrel band has been moved back) it's in pristine condition. From what I can see, internals, barrel, gas system, bluing and wood are all in VG shape. It's been around for a while, so I don't know if it's registered. Anyone know what a good deal would be? Or the top someone should pay?

Thanks,
H Wally

Stock to restore it, sell for at least $200.00. So I would not pay more than $150.00 the way it is.

Not modified are around $200 nowadays.

They're ok but not the best as a shooter. If you want a collector then maybe look for something better. Still some around. Just be sure to check barrel condition if you see one at a show, some are pretty bad.

Maybe $100 for a cut-down stock one.

So $350 tops for a stock one, $100 for wood removed?

Where it has been cut seems to be under where the rear band was, can't he just do it like the project rosses and rebuild it back on? Seems like a pretty steep price drop for 4 inches of wood.

It wouldn't be so drastic if the wood was easily replaceable......stocks and handguards for these rifles are virtually non-existant. You could splice it to make it look better, but it's still bubba'd.
