I got my Bull Moose today :)

After we walked up on it it was then I noticed that he was missing half of his right antler, so he's the 1/2 Moose

I'll post a picture or Two later and the story, I've got some hockey to watch then some whiskey to drink, have a gooder Y'all

The morning started off pretty good yesterday, on the way to a cutblock that we were going to sit in and call I almost ran over a 50+ Bull on the road. He took off in the trees deciding he didnt want to tangle with the Mini Dodge so we parked and set up to call on a cutline not far away. Over the next hour we had 3 bulls and 2 cows walk out to check things out and heard the big guy but he wouldnt come back out. We left for the cutblock we were originally headed to and we were not 10 minutes in and had seen 2 cows and heard something smashing trees about 200 yards in the bush but no matter how sweet we sounded "it" wouldnt come out. After a while things were silent once more so it was off to "Moose Row" wich has always produced :p

We were on Moose Row for half hour or so when this guy made the mistake and came in. He was silent the whole way not making any noise whatsoever and by the time I seen him he looked as if he was getting ready to leave. I only ever seen him from the left side and decided to take the shot as he looked like a pretty decent Bull. Holly barked {375 H&H  } he humped up and the rest as they say is history. When we got up to him I realized that he was missing half of his right side otherwise he would have been a damn fine Moose. As it stands he's been nicknamed the 1\2 Moose :)

The 300gr Nosler Blew apart a lung and split the heart in half but didn't exit out the other side. I'm real happy with my new gun 8)

Was out in the Yota but had to run back into town to grab the meatwagon and a quad. Here it is loaded up and ready to go to the butcher.

Anybody here good with photoshop or the works? It would be neat to see what he might have looked like before he was broken.

Poor diet. Mind you, it won't affect the meat.
What are you talking about :? ... I guess one half of the moose ate allright
Antler's like that on a healthy heavy Moose are caused usually by accident or injury... like sparring
