Well,

I must admit, with some chagrin, that I forgot to bring along my camera this weekend.

Took the wife/kiddies along to the Halifax Citadel army museum.

They have some nice kit.

A Nordenfeldt.

A Gatling.

Vickers, Bren, MG-08, 57mm Recoilless.

But, I didn't realize until yesterday that they had a Boyes AT Rifle!

NICE!

I'm going to have to go make friends with the curator again.

Figures you would focus on the big stuff and not mention the sweet little webley with the skull-crusher....:dancingbanana:

I'm headed to NS this summer to see the family. Maybe I can get Gramma to take the kids for the day and pop over. The last time I was at the Citadel Muesum I was on an elementary school trip.

As I recall we went to McDonalds first and then I made myself sick rolling down Citadel Hill

I will probably skip that part this time. :)

Did you find any mislabeled guns there?

I had a great conversation with the curator at the Citadel arms museum. Many of the firearms were mislabeled with the wrong tags . I pointed out at least a dozen including a brown bess, a 1910 Ross and a No.4 lee enfield that had the labels mixed up with other guns in the display case.

The only museum that I haven't found errors in labeling on guns was the military arms museum at 710 Santa Fe in Beunos Aires. Like the citadel Arms museum that one is worth a visit if you are ever in Beunos Aires.

Been there for the centennial and took part in the festivities.

Posted this before, but there is a Civil War Medal of honor sailor buried in the local cemetary. Unfortunately I also didn't have my camera with me to take a pic of the headstone.
