I'm just throwing this out there to everyone. I might be securing a large amount of wheel weight lead. I plan on getting as much as I possibly can. As long as my bullet supply is ok I'd love to share the wealth with other gun nutters. I do have to pay for this and am still back and forth to figure out a price but basically I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in clean wheel weight lead and what is an average price per pound. If people are interested either post here or pm me with figures. Thanks

P.s. Hope this doesn't get deleted and told to post in the EE as it's not something I have in my hands at the moment and don't have a price. Cheers.

Sorted and melted into ingots, $1/pound is a good guideline. I get 100's of lbs a year in harvested WW from the shop, I don't sort or melt them, and I don't put any cash value on them; but I do trade them for stuff I need or use, like cast bullets. I think trading raw material for finished projectiles is a good deal.

Well that's a starting point. Do you guys have a steady supply for the clean stuff at $1 a pound? I would hate to go through a bunch of work and in the end be hovering around $1 a pound cost when I could have just bought it. I have a friend who has a small tackle company and he's paying 2.50 a pound and I thought that was crazy.

Well....did you have proof they were pure?
Well, pure or close enough to pure is pretty easy for someone who knows what they want to tell. If it's soft enough for muzzle loaders, it's really easy to cut into it with your finger nail. Compare wheel weight lead to 22lr bullets and it will soon be apparent to you.
