Fellow Hamiltonians,

I am looking to join one of the ranges in the area but would like to hear some opinions on them. Advantages/disadvantages, 'fun' factor, etc..

Thanks in advance.

I'm a member at HAHA. The club is great as it is pretty laid back and has lots of options & great facility. The only drawbacks are that the longest range is only 100 yrds. Also, you can shoot rimfire on any day but centerfire on Sunday's, Wednesday's + Thursday evening only.

rarely crowded.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Originally I was thinking burlington but looking at HAHA or Silverdale definitely changed my mind. I'm going to drive out there and check them out this week.

Thanks again.

Another vote for Silverdale. I have been a member for 2 years and have nothing but positive things to say about it. Out of 4 or 5 clubs around me, it is the farthest but well worth the drive.

X 2 on silverdale I have been a member there since march and I have nothing bad to say about the place other it can get a little busy on the weekends.

Another for silverdale, You can go on the weekend and get a day pass to use the range to try it out first if you want. I have been to a few other clubs and my favourite thing about silverdale is the action range as well as not having restriction on when I can shoot (7 days a week anytime as long as it is light outside) and what caliber.

New shooter here as well. Doing my 1-stop at Silverdales. Was there last night. Didn't realize there was so much heated competition between gun clubs in the area till I started googling old CGN threads :)

I am from Hamilton, and new to shooting, glad I found this thread before I asked the same question again.

I have been to Silverdale three times as a guest, the people are great..staff and members alike they are a wealth of knowledge and they have no problem taking the time to teach you and even let you in some cases shoot their guns if you take an interest. Membership is closed until October, I just hope when the time comes if I don't already have a membership elsewhere I can get one at Silverdale. It is worth the drive.

Just in case they are members of CGN thanks to a Silverdale member for letting me shoot his Lee Enfield Mk4 No2, that was a thrill and to Pedro another member for showing me an amazing Mosin Carbine and helping my friend with his 91/30 and giving him some great pointers, as he had never shot it.

I do want to join a club ASAP because those guest days will quickly add up to more than I would be paying to be a member for the whole year.

I do live a lot closer to HAHA, but I have read you do need members to vouch for you and I don't know anyone that can.

I'd say join WSSC, cheapest of all the options. If you want to shoot rifle just go to Silverdale a few times a year for $20 entry. Other option is Burlington, also a good range. Winter shooting (for me) isn't fun so I like to be indoors to practice my hobby. Once you get an ATT you can go to any range to shoot so your not limited than.

I am a first-timer as well...does anyone have any feedback on Burlington Club?
I have been calling them for a while trying to get some info on best time to show up to start an application.
I was told that the Membership Direct should be there when I go for it.
