They just arrived in the mail today. I purchased them for my 257 Weatherby, 103 grains, it will be interesting to try them out. From what I researched, they don't resemble Barnes non-terminial performance; they actually fragmentate by losing their pedals and other pieces of copper, and then the main shaft of the bullet go's straight through. Also, I read and heard that they are accurate and fast. Anyone out there with Hammer bullet experience?

Interesting design similar to CEB's which shoot quite accurately in my .375 & 416's. Looks like GSS also stocks Hammer bullets.

That's where I purchased them, at GSS, not cheap either. My main concern is not accuracy, as much as terminal performance on big game. I'm not particular fond of monolithic bullets of their little expansion; however, Hammers are a bit different.

You have obviously not read any bad reviews of them then. A few out there regarding the complete non expansion of them at all. I know that, like all things there are good and bad reviews as shiiit happens, but it was enough to sway me away from them for now. Was using them in a 6.5 PRC, but did not have a chance to shoot at any game.

If you do use them, they also seem to like a crimp. Tightened groups after a slight crimp on them.

Load development will be in the distant future, and big game hunting with the Hammers will be further away. I have three rifles on the go right now with load development, which is keeping me quite busy, along with other projects. I'll be commenting on their terminal performance if they resemble the Barnes.

This unfavorable review Hammers don't transfer energy & don't penetrate straight line instead veering off. Maybe good accuracy ok for target shooting then?

Spomer likes them.

I've viewed those YouTube videos, along with many others. Personally for me, it will be most interesting what terminal performance it will achieve on big game. I haven't shot a doe in 2.5 decades, they may have to be the sacrificial lamb to test these bullets.

I think those bullets will work just fine - the internet is full of mis-information and we have to take that into account - the YT video posted could have been funded by another bullet manufacture or by a company said company controls.

Post an update on how well they work for you
