Hammer not falling on my Bul 1911

Recently problem starting to show up on my Bul M5 1911, the hammer does not drop fully, going about 3/4 of the way but not hitting the firing pin. I did replace the safety awhile ago, but it worked fine. But last weekend I started having issues with the hammer not falling properly about 7 times out of time. the slide appears to be in battery. any thoughts? I suspect I will have to put the old safety back in.

I would suggest going back to the old safety. I also have a BUL M-5 ( Love it ) and the internals
are basic 1911. If the problem started after you changed the safety, that would be the likely
culprit.

It did not start right away which is why I find it odd. I also just tried the Kimber .45acp mag in my .40cal and it works, with occcasional feed problems on the last bullet. I wish they would get the proper mags for this gun.

Do you have an overtravel screw in the trigger? If you do, back it out a few turns and try the trigger again.
