Would a m1a hammer be a drop in replacement for a norinco m305?. Im no expert but the hammer in my gun appears to be soft/worn where it contacts the bolt. Only found that out after it burst fired on me. I got it working like it should again, now that i removed material in the stock, but i feel i cant trust this thing now

Did this happen after you replaced the factory stock for wood or other stock?

Yes, an M1A hammer should drop right in.
Wear on the striking face shouldn't make any difference that would result in "burst" firing.

An M1A hammer would be a drop in unit, BUT would need to be fitted correctly.

If adjusting stock fit solved the problem, I would leave the hammer alone despite the wear you might be seeing.
The hammer/bolt interface is a high friction location so a certain amount of hammmer wear should be evident.

However , if the bolt is "carving' the hammer and causing raised edges or burrs in the contact surface.... I do recommend a hammer replacement.
