I have a ParaOrd 1911. upon striping the weapon for cleaning the trigger was inadvertently pulled sending the hammer forward, I cleaned the pistol and then reassembled it, when I went to preform a function test, the hammer remained in the cocked position and would not go forward when the trigger was pulled, any ideas/ Suggestions for a fix

Can you tell if the hammer is under any spring tension? Either way, remove the main spring housing and check to see were the hammer strut ended up.

I'm new to 1911's as well but a couple of things off the top of my head from going through all this as well the one time I did a full detail strip.

The disconnector may be in backwards. It'll fit that way. Just don't ask me how. :D

If the grip safety jumped the spring tang during reassembly it may be jamming the works. That happened to me as well.

Odds are you've got the hammer strut stuck against the side of the mainspring housing, instead of centered on the mainspring cap.
