I’ve come across a Hammerli 208s 22LR that I picked up as part of a few guns. What are these things worth in Canada realistically? I see US pricing is high, but I can’t find much about them in Canada. But unfortunately the real kicker is there any magazines kicking around for these? It came without a mag! Anyone have more experience with these things?

I believe Tradex has a few listed which will give you an idea on value. No idea where to find a mag though

Thanks, I checked them out. Not 100% on the difference but they have the international not the 208s, sounds like the previous model with different triggers and a couple other subtle differences. Slightly different. I will hassle them hopefully the mags work (if they have any)

What's the condition? Does it have box & papers? The 208 is an excellent gun but support has dried up and time has marched on; you won't see many left at competitions leaving it as a novelty/collector gun. If condition isn't excellent and it doesn't have all parts the market is small.

No magazines is a big deal as 208 magazines are hard to find and quite expensive. 208/208s share magazines.

Post pictures if you can.

I forgot to get some today but I will. No box or papers. Grip has been handled with dirty hands so likely could use a clean up, but the finish and everything look good.

I shot a 215 international for a few years and they are much the same , I think
A gun that would feed and shoot any kind of ammo 100%, which is hard to find these days.
I made a couple of the newer EXXE, or what ever they are called( old age setting in) work in mine, if yours has the flat mag spring with a loop in it to hold the mags in.
Trade Ex has no extra mags for those guns he has, I don't think,, I think I still have 2 in stock, would have to check.

Do you have any Hammerli slides ?

I looked at that page , and those mags they call 208 look like the X-esse mags, maybe they messed the picture up, the 208, 215 should have a notch for the spring. Those are same mags I made work in my 215 intermational , I have not had a 208, but look the same, I think????????
I damn near fell over when I saw the price on the GPS mags.
Air Guns Plus has Hammerli 208 mags listed for sale.

could you post a picture of the mag well and the latch, and see if it is the same as the 215 I had, it is, than I could show how I did it, would have to draw a picture and post it, as I don't have the gun any more.

Hammerli 208 mags.
Newer style on left, older on right with long tab to help remove mag from mag well with target grips on.
You could glue a tab extension onto the bottom with VHB tape (3M Very High Bond).

The Hammerli Xesse mags look like the 208 mag on the left but are made of plastic, not metal.

Those look like the factory mags for the 215 I had, I cut a slot like that in the plastic base at the same height in the Xesse mags and worked great, never had any problems with them.
They worked 100 % for maybe 5-7 years till I sold it about 10 yrs ago.
I just had the standard grips on it, so did not need the long base, If you did, I don't see a problem extending them with some hard wood or?
When I bought the 215, From Anthony , I had no mags with it,, so cheap, but I had the Xesse at the time, and other than the latch, shape and angle is the same.
This would be the cheapest way to go if you don't any to start with.
