20vqt,
I bought mine (Hammerli X-ESSE)from Mark at Powderkeg in Kamloops. I really like it. it is very accurate, but it has a quirk, when I use expensive ammo, lapua etc, the groups open up. I have just been using CCI match. Shoots very well, have had no jams or problems.
Just my $.02 worth.

"...Ruger MKIII comparisons..." There is no comparison. The Hammerli is a real target pistol. The Ruger is an entry level pistol.
Here's the Cdn dealer info.

I have had my Hamerli X-Esse Sport for about a year now and the only complaint I have is it is a little light on the muzzle. The Sig TrailSides come with a weight set that you can interchange to make the barrel heavier out there on the end.

The Hamerli is also interchangable, but they do not include the weights with the gun. You can buy weights for the Hamerli, Larry's Guns carries them, but I opted to build mine out of stainless.

I like the Hamerli Sport because the trigger is adjustable down to 2.2 pounds, which is where I set mine. No pricy trigger job nessecary. So my thinking is that sometimes it is worth the extra money to buy a gun that needs the least amount of work out of the box.

Other than that, mine has never had even the slightest hiccup. It will feed anything I throw at it. And the mags are easy to load, but they are plastic.

The Hamerli also has a weaver rail on top in case you ever want to mount a red dot or something, mine is gonna get a Tasco Optima 2000 soon as it arrives in the mail.

I do not shoot competition, it is only for plinking, but what a plinker.

My 2 cents.
