I got this pistol of CGN EE used in excellent shape, quite some time ago.

Took it to the range yesterday for the first time, and enjoyed it great deal.

Very accurate, trigger very light, with excellent feel, handgrip extremely comfortable.

I was using CCI standard velocity, little worried that CCI Minimags might be just bit much for it.

What ammo do you use in it, and do you suggest standard, or high velocity ammo as a better option for this pistol?

Any advice, experience and opinions are welcome!

Cheers,
Dan

It should be fine for any modern ammo, but you will probably get the best accuracy and longest life using target velocity loadings, or standard velocity, which ussually amounts to the same thing. I've always wanted to shoot one of those, enjoy! :)

And that- you will have a chance real soon.

Bring P7M10 and P7M13, I will bring my P7M8 and this Hammerli, and any other that comes to mind.

We were supposed to meet some time ago, but life got in the way.

Let me know by PM when is the best time for you, and blast off is on! :)

I run target velocity ammo in mine, e.g. Federal 714, Eley Club.

I had issues with fail to feed with the high velocity ammo.

Mini mags aren't great on a semi-auto pistol. They will shoot well and everything will work fine for awhile. Then you could find some parts that are cracked or broken. Learned the hard way using mini mags on my S&W Model 41.

I think that I would be wise to stay with standard velocity ammo.

So far I tried CCI standard velocity and green tag, worked like a charm.
Both about 1000 fps.

I tried CBee22 Remington, and predictably that did not work at all.
Velocity 740fps at the muzzle, too low to operate semi auto.

Friend brought up Federal Champion, but I decided against it.
Velocity 1340 fps, perhaps tad too hot?

Cheers,
Dan
