hand grips - what do you like?

That's the one thing I haven't tried yet.... I must do so someday.

If you use skateboard tape, you need to learn to let your wrist and arm absorb the recoil rather than trying to keep your wrist rigid. If you keep your wrist rigid to absorb recoil, the gun tends to try and rotate in your hand and the skateboard tape, (similar to #50 sandpaper) tends to "soften" ;) the skin on your hands by sanding away the outer layers.

There are references/instructions for applying the tape to grips. I have a 1911 with one piece of tape wrapped from one grip around the front to the other side. Other methods include placing areas of tape in desired locations.

Definitely prefer Pachmayrs on my revolvers and checkered wood for my semi's. For my Glock 17...a bicycle inner tube.

Main thing is to find what's most comfortable for you. I have a mix of grips on my various handguns. Each is for that particular one as it fits me. Try different ones out until you find the right grip(s) for you... ;)

Good point. I have a set of Ruger stag horn on an old .44 Flat Top and with a bit of a palm swell on the right side, they feel great.

Craig Speigel grips on my High Powers; Uncle Mikes boot grips without the finger groves on my K frames... although I keep threatening to go back to the issue skinny wood grips with just the old plastic Taylor (Tyler?) grip filler that added a bit to the front of the grip. I have small hands, and large grips really screw my shooting up. I prefer wood, and I suppose I should be trying the minimal wood grips available out there these days that have a bit of a filler at the front of the grip.
