I'm gonna sticky this guys.

I know alot of us in here are hunters and some might not care if the liberals ban handguns because they don't own one. Big deal!!! You do realise that if they pass this the next step will be restricted long guns and then maybe a couple years down the road after they see that people are still being shot and their idea of confiscating weapons isn't working because people are just getting guns anyways, they'll go after shotguns next, and so on and so on.

No I'm not being a radical I just want alot of us hunters and target shooters to step up to the plate and dig in, we've gotta do our part in all of this.

Go check out the Hand gun ban section and get into it before it's to late.

Support Maddog 100%. The next argument will be evil sniper rifles (anything with a scope), shotguns ("impossible to survive the "blast"- "no reason why anybody should own such a lethal instrument"), military calibers, "( can penetrate a foot & a half of concrete), 22 rimfire mag limits ("close the loophole"), anything other than wood stocks (assault rifles). Doesn't matter if the safety record is impeccable "the concersn of the community must be addressed") and the favorite one - "the weapon of choice of (name your group) twice as lethal as ordinary pistols"

I remember listeining to Allan Rock on Parliament Hill - while we were all standing in the crosshairs of the Federal storm troopers on the rooftops - say "registration is not confiscation"... about 10 years ago.

Banning guns has been their platform since Jean Chretien was Justice Minister in the 70's. He stopped hunting with handguns first and then started by saying why do you need them you can't hunt with them.
Then he sent Alan Rock after it to register the long guns. Now (theoretically) they know where they all are so guess what babe your next.
After this vote is done, we need to make sure the Lieberals envy the number of seats Kim Cambell got after she was PM.

I agree. As a rifle owner & shooter I'm also a handgun owner & shooter. We need to circle the wagons together on this issue!

They're trying to secure their hold on Toronto. They should make drugs illegal while they're at it, put a stop to all those people using, dealing and dying!

And how about cigarettes, sports cars & fast food....

The other day at looked at the front page of the of the B.C. newpaper, the "Province", and found that the convicted thief and felon, as well as former MP, Svend Robinson, was very much against that the the US National Rifle Association, NRA, gave any moral support to the Canadian gun owners.

Interestingly, NRA has always been hated by criminals and felons, like Svend Robinson, who all feel that our societies should be completely disarmed, and thus make the life easier for criminals felons.

I'm not sure how putting our Hammerli and Walther target pistols into the melting pot is supposed to help the Asian immigrant gang problem in our major cities.

Somehow it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me...

lets start the letters guys to every MP dont matter what party they belong to write t hem all telling them you had enuff if ever one who has a PAL set up to the plate we can stop them

One thing is certain my fellow firearms owners,....they started with old war era firearms, then moved on to short barreled pistols (now prohibs), now the Liberal party is focusing on all handguns,.......what do you think is next!!!!!!!???!

Hunting rifles, shotguns and bows will eventually be next!!!! We all have to do our part! I have gone thru so many polls and wrote my share of letters. Other things you can do than just voting for the PCP, is encourage your shooting friends to vote PCP, and explain that hunting rifles will be next. NATO marks may be applied to all firearms that come into Canada. WHY???,..because the government wants to know, in case they decide to start confiscating........ this may sound a little "over the top", but think about the Liberal parties actions to date......Before the Gun registry, if I told you that our Government was going to spend BILLIONS on registering your long rifles, would you have believed me?????

Please, all!! Contact your premier right now. Just emailed mine. The slippery pricks are making it a buy in from each province thing. The rest is obviously a Martin desperate attempt at getting re elected and its a no brainer what to do about that.

Well, use this as your main argument.
A few years back when Tony Blair banned handguns completely in the UK firearm related crime rose by the staggering amount of 200%!!
And here in Australia a week after tightening of handgun laws and a huge buy-back finished there were a spate of gangland killings using......gee, HANDGUNS.
The first victims were a crown witness and his wife.
I'm not endorsing handguns as self defense pieces but make sure you get ALL of these sort of tales together and use them as "ammunition" against the pricks in power.
It won't stop.
And let's face it, the only people who are affected by gun laws are law abiding folk.
Remind the government of that.

We need now more than ever the traditional Division lines between shooting genre's lifted. Hunters need to realize that they are no different than handgun owners, the game isnt safety, its confiscation.
We need to all band together to stop this rediculous last ditch effort of a lying stealing and failing government to control Canadians. Domino's are interesting, but once one falls, they're impossible to keep standing.
We cant let one Domino fall on this topic.
If he wanted to save canadians, they would have used the money their stinking money grubbing party bilked from canadians for healthcare, or more police on the streets. Instead of keeping their fat guts fatter, and they're bursting pockets lined with our stolen money.
If you combine the stolen money with the wasted money of the Likes of C-68, we wouldnt be scraping so deep for christmas presents this year after payng Ontario Provincial healthcare taxes and such. Oh well, its only an extra 700.00 a year.
Though that was done provincially, what happens at a federal level ripples down through the provinces. Federal government axes healthcare, province scrambles for answers. Nearly 3 billion extra dollars over the last 10 years would have been nice eh? Maybe my Grandmother wouldnt have died in November because she had a ####ty overworked Emergency room Doctor 3weeks before that mistook Fibrosis of the lungs (coal miners desease) for panic attacks. " here is a puffer Mrs Barber, go home". Yeah, even after the Xrays. My point being, had there been some of that money available, or had the LIEberals released some of the 5 billion Dollar surplus, some of our loved ones might actually still be alive. (Read extra stolen money from overtaxation and such) Now they're proposing spending billions to ban handguns. Per the national lastnight, there were 622 murders in Canada last year, and some 27 percent were with guns, and 18% handguns (Im a bit foggy, but those numbers stand out) Billions of dollars to possibly save 112 lives a year?
Truth be told, if our government were interested in saving canadians, they might spend more money on anti smoking campaign's, or maybe a justice system that works. I found myself wondering how many of those 622 were mothers or sisters or daughters who the sytem had failed with a restraining order rather than putting an abusive husband boyfriend or father away. Not enough police officers to investigate every claim, but there are billion dollar programs not working, a 5 billion dollar surplus, and canadians are left scared, and unable to defend themselves.
Hundreds of CANADIAN CHILDREN are abused every day, but our government isnt interested in stopping that. Why not start where Violence begins?
You have to think to yourself, for every one of those 622 murders, there was a murderer. Like the guy a few weeks ago that was caught with a stolen handgun in a mall, assaults a police officer, and is back on the street in 2 days to kill a kid with yet another stolen handgun. The scary thing is that had the kid not shot the other, he would have likely got off with a few months or community service instead of Mandatory sentencing. The system says he's not that violent, and our system is allready overcrowded, so instead, we will let him back on the streets. Tell the mother of the dead boy he's not that violent. Why not make Judges accountable? Why not get tough on the subject, and Enforce existing laws?
That would just make too much sense for our current government and justice system.

All the while, the liberals are sitting on a big stack of our money holding it back from us, and collecting more as we speak.

We need to all stand together to oust the LIEBERALS and give him the Mulroney treatment. And I think the Government should have to sign Sarbanes-Oxley. Make that crooked mouthed bastard accountable.
"SO let me get this straight Mr Martin, you want to steal from me, #### me, and take my guns away. I dont think so!!!!
Lets hope the rest of Canada see's it the way we do and hope Canadians will elect a new government on Jan. 23, 2006

You might not be endorsing self defense with a handgun...but I most certainly am...mainly because of case studies where concealed carry permits are issued and thusly a direct drop in violent crime becomes the natural result.

Also as far as hunting is concerned, as I happen to be a bowhunter, I would kile to see handgun hunting come back, with calibre restrictions of course for certain game etc(has to be within reason obviously, no 22LR for moose, even though it has been done before[shot to the eye]) as well as barrel length retrictions...no snubbie 44's for 200 meter shots(somebody dumb enough will try it)

Ok so I've seen this play out before..
I moved to Canada from England a few years ago after watching my Government ban handguns.

Did we resist- You'd better believe we did!! You should have seen it- Marches and protests through London, the works..
Ultimately once the legislative ratchet began to turn, the amount of paperwork and hoops you had to jump through became too much- I was reduced to a high powered CO2 Air rifle although silencers on these are still allowed?!
I don't own handguns or ever plan to- they don't excite me in the way rifles/shotguns do. But understand that this WILL affect us all including non restricted owners..

I've lived in Canada for six years and am now a Canadian citizen. Though I have found in general Canadians to be forgiving, relaxed, tolerant of others, kind and easy going to their own detriment. These are wonderful human qualities of which attracted me to this land of which I am so proud to be part of. (There's a "but" coming.)
BUT, we need to act now- get annoyed and get involved in what is happening to us and our sport. Its not enough to leave protest of this upcoming ban to others- YOU are the "others". Please do something and help the handgun owners by writing a factual and polite letter to Radio/TV/Local city hall, MPP whoever.
Whatever you do- DO SOMETHING. Thank you for listening.
