I only load for bolt action or single shots. Is there any difference if you load for a semi auto rifle or a pump action rifle how bout a lever action with a detachable magazine.I am considering buying a mini 14 in 223 that is why I am asking also might load for a rem 7600 in 270. Thanks again guys I might be lost with out this forum.

aside from the full-length resizing, basically no difference-you may, need small base dies, and you have to make cartridges with enough oomph to work the actions, but that's about it-

I load for a 30-06 Remington 742 and to much oomph doesn't work well either. I use SB dies and just the right amount of powder and crimp and all is good. Did take some experimenting tho.

I was reading that you should not use too slow of a powder in an autoloader because of the gas system. That being said I use imr-4064 for a friend's Bar in 30-06 (150 gr. bullets)
