hand presses-any good?

will i get the same results with a hand press as with a bench mounted model? any pros/cons?

You will get the same results, but only if you don't need to do anything heroic like forming cases. The little Lee hand press I have is used to prepare handgun cases while watching TV. I would not use it for precision work, but it would be a good choice as a basic loader for a student or someone with no "bench" space. Kinda inconvenient to seat bullets in a case full of powder without spilling any, but it can be done if you pay attention!

What about the Lee Loader? Dies it crimp or does one need to buy a crimping die so that the rnds can be shot from semis?

I agree with Teapot. I have several bench presses but I use my Lee Handpress a lot for duties that I could do while watching TV; Depriming etc.
If you try full length sizing you'll either want or will soon have arms like a power lifterbut for many tasks it's a great thing.

I like my lee loader, but I only use it for a rifle round. It's product is just as good as my bench press except since it neck sizes only, the brass is treated more gently.
