In your opinion, which companies AR15 handguard/quadrail has the best/sturdies/nices looking/most functional attachment method? Daniel Defense? KAC? Troy? Samson? Centurion? Other?
Im doing some designing and would like to study what you all think is the best attachment method. Feel free to give pros/cons to different setups

I just googled the Troy battle rail, looks pretty neat.

From what that says, you don't need to have the nut precisely aligned, which is a neat feature for ease of assembly.

I have always had a soft spot for the Daniel Defense rail style.

However the only one I have personal experience installing was the Noveske barrel nutthat came with their Skinny Rail.

It's a rather sleek design, but it does require some fiddling to get the holes aligned properly.

I kind of like the diamondhead T model with the finger grooves. Although keymod is all the rage right now.

My troy alpha rail took me about 10 mins to mount. Uses the existing barrel nut and is very easy to disassemble for cleaning. My only complaint is that you have to be careful when torquing down the 3 bolts. if they are not at the same torque then the rail will not be perfectly aligned. Other than that, Very sturdy mounting, not budging at all.

I second the Geissele. Super easy to install barrel nut. No "aligning" of the nut needed and there tolerances for fitment are 0.002" best rail I've handled

Third up for geissele, it is without a doubt the most over killed, finely machined piece you will ever hold.....

Thanks guys, this gives me plenty of ideas to work with (designing a new rail). I really like the geiselle barrel nut, lots of meat in the horizontal for those longer rails. Im thinking id also like to incorporate some type of tool-less or common tool tightening abilities into the nut (i.e. not a spanner wrench).

Thanks again!

Samson Evolution.
Dead easy install; drop the heat sink/adapter on the stock barrel nut, slide on the forend, tighten 3 screws. No locktite, no play, no coming loose.
I like that it only has the top pic rail, but other rails can be added all the way around, not just 3,6, and 9. They announced a key mod option at SHOT.
Oh and they export direct to Canada with no hassles. the customer service has been great.

If price was not a factor, I would have bought the geissele SMR Mk4, but with tx and shipping 400+ was just plain out of my range. Troy was much more economical and still a quality product.
