Handguard for precision Crypto build

There's really no good reason to really load into a bipod, you just can't be very consistent when doing so. I'm always mystified when people advocate doing that...
I guess it helps a bit with recoil and faster follow up shots but I've found the same when shooting for precision it's not helpful

Hey, just curious what BCG and gas system do you have setup on the crypto here? Kinda interested in hearing about the buffer setup too..

Nice groups!!
Rifle length gas system, non adjustable gas block. Don't really know the gas port size of the barrel, but it comes dimpled so it's very easy to get the gas block positioned perfectly. BCG is JP Full Mass with JP enhance bolt (makes the action super smooth). Buffer tube is BCM carbine with the normal spring it comes with. Ejection is at about 4 o'clock, haven't had any stoppages in about 250 rounds with both very hot (S&B, Frontier etc) and anemic ammo (PMC) so I don't see the need of adjusting anything.

This barrel is pretty awesome yeah. I was skeptical at first but the results speak for themselves. On top of being accurate it chronographs really fast. Averaging 3100fps with 69gr and 2950fps with 75gr just makes it shoot so flat.

Awesome. I had been looking at the JP full mass however I couldn't find the units in stock. These groups be putting my BA 18.6 to shame with 55gr. I will have to test out a few different weights next time I am out. With a 3.8oz Armaspec SHS system with the mid length gas system I don't got enough gas to lock the bolt back let alone reliably cycle PMC .223.

Damn, that is crazy fast with 75s in a 20"pipe, that's how fast I push them in a 26" bolt gun. What's the load?

It's a cheap factory load. Hornady Frontier 5.56 75gr so it's 5.56 pressure. Not particularly accurate though, like 1.5-2 MOA.
Haven't gotten around to loading for this barrel yet, got some 77 Scenars and N140 and TAC to play around with, we'll see what kind of velocities I can get out of that.

Still, that's impressively fast. I wanna say that MK262 normally runs 2750ish out of an 18" barrel. The sweet spot with 75/77s and N140 is normally around 24gr. I'm running 24.4 with Hornady 75s which gives me close to 2700 in a couple 18.5" barrels. I'm all out of N140 now though and have been running N150 in my bolt .223 (not at AR mag length though). Gonna try and work up a load for the gas guns with N150, if it's like the loads Ive had for bolt guns, it'll be the same powder charge but will be faster, haha.
