Handguard wiggle on VZ-58

I'm a new owner of a used VZ-58 and just noticed that the top handguard has a little wiggle to it that I would like to get rid of. Anyone know how I could fix this? Would it be the handguard itself or just the pin? I do plan on maybe purchasing a NEA railed handguard so I can co-witness an optic, but I would love to fix that wiggle so that it's set right in place. I noticed the back dustcover has a little play to it as well, would a new pin for that fix the problem as well or is it meant to be like that? Many thanks in advance for any help!
 
I fixed mine by stretching out where the assembly fits into the notches = front wiggle gone. I've noticed there are different tolerances for this, same UHG assembly was loose on my FSN but snug on my 858. If your problem is at the pin end (rear), you should try to find another assembly as I've noticed some fit better than others. This one may have been banged around.

Try wrapping a bit of clear packing tape around it. I have had to do this to several and it works great plus it can always be taken off if needed. Also then no mods are necessary to the top handguard retaining ring urinate you want to change the furniture and next one is longer then the one you have

If you try to find a military surplus one and not the cheap CSA reproduction they tend to fit tighter. Otherwise bfiles has the best idea minus the urinate:)
 
It is a simple fix, just squeeze front taps on the upper hand guard in a vise. Wrap it in some cloth so you do not scratch it, and do it in small increments so you do not over do it. It is nothing major to do it, metal there is not heat treated

This is what I was trying to say... exactly what I did when I had the front wobble.
 
As i re read the OP's first post, yes i did bend the two front tabs just a bit BUT I thought he meant the actual beaver barf rattling around which then I would use tape.
As for the rear dustcover, that's normal
