Yep, went to buy a pistol mag, and domestic shipping made it not worth it anymore. Is what it is, but I marvel at how I can get small (non-gun) parts off Ebay shipped direct from China for free, yet Canada Post wants $24 for a small light weight item that only costs $36. This country drives me crazy sometimes.

Your white-knighting for them is admirable.

A small Canada Post pre-paid national box is $17 retail price.

I agree shipping seems out of line but $17 plus 15 minutes taping and labelling? Adds a bit doesn't it! Box and filler to add!

I dabble in a small small business and had free shipping Tuesday through Canada Post in October on one item a week. The response I got when I had a decent price and free shipping was offers to pay half the price and free shipping. Can't make money that way.

Your post is one of the most precise, honest, and exact comments made on CGN in a long, long time: people expect a company like Rangeview to sell below cost, pay their staff on nothing, keep the lights on & space with ?charity?, and then ship for a few dollars. This isn't the USA.

I have been shipping a few things and it's nuts: get a shipping quote of $15.00 from Canada Post... ok, not bad... and then a $9.50 fuel surcharge that includes Carbon Tax because their basic shipping is "Carbon Neutral'. With tax that $40.00 box of bullets becomes $65.73. If I do a flat rate box it's $17.84 for the box, that I have to get, fill out the form and go back to the Post Office to drop off: a 30 minute round trip twice unless I bring the item and stuff the box in my vehicle (which means bringing a large box of filler, stuffing, bubble wrap and tape in the car). Small business account allows me to box and ship from home, nice Canada Post lady will take anything pre-paid up to 10Kg that doesn't have an over-length charge, so no time and gas money to go to the post office.

The only way to 'make money' for Rangeview is to make sure the mark-ups are high enough to cover the expenses... but then they could price themselves out of business to just 'stay afloat'... and then what? Rejoicing by CGN members we lost another guns store?

you haven't seen the Canada Post adds? all Canada post shipping is carbon neutral. That has to be worth something. (insert Smart ass emoji here)

So 4 mags from rangeview, shipping is $42, while the same 4 mags from another vendor 2 hours away is $17, Defend them if you want, but they are obviously not running their shipping department effectively, or they are banking shipping costs to offset their sale price, either way is no good. Your shipping story also has zero to do with this scenario as they are an established business that that deals in daily CP pickups or drop offs, you make it sound as if when someone orders something they have to go to the post office, buy a box, bring it back to the store, pack it and fill out the tag and then take it to the post office. But you'd think that's what's happening given their shipping quotes. For a business to have a healthy supply of prepaid boxes on standby (especially a business that claims they are not liable for any missing or lost packages) would be immensely beneficial.

I can beat that...

From Newmarket, ON to Brampton, ON (51 minutes away - 65 km)

Remember, this is for a spring kit:

And to top it all off...they pretend that they wouldn't be responsible for the successful delivery of your item(s) ("optional" insurance scam, LMAO). Unfortunately for them, even though some company policies indicate the buyer is responsible for merchandise that's lost in shipping, consumer laws clearly state that the retailer is responsible. Yes, even with statements and confirmation check boxes acknowledging otherwise.

Same picture - $30 to ship a a glock sights .

I direct a lot of business to places that offer free shipping. Even if over a certain threshold ask others if they need anything and combine orders to obtain it. … or just buy that little extra from them to achieve that free ship. Win win

Well, I voted with my dollars, I just bought 10 of the 10 pack of targets and 3 other items. My final bill after taxes and shipping was significant, BUT, they had what i wanted and I will support Canadian businesses anytime I can being a small business owner myself. The prices were similar to other locations, but it was the AVAILABUILITY that greatly offset the shipping charges to cover boxes and packing and tape and time. Thank you for great service.

$54 bucks shipping for two Nanuk cases, one Pelican Vault case, a Benelli rail, 4X 1911 magazines and a Surefire pistol/ laser.

Not bad.

Buy in bulk fellas. It’s always been expensive to buy a spring, or a sight.

Okay, so orders in. I need more 7 rd 1911 mags, and I've been eyeing the G10 grips for a while now.
