I read an great article a few months ago that did a real life comparison of the different handgun calibres for combat. It compared 9, 40, 45. Talked about ballistics, wounds, ammo, mag capacity, etc, etc.

Anybody familiar with the article i'm talking about. I can no longer find it.

Summed up as follows. Any centerfire handgun cartidge with a modern hollowpoint bullet, delivered to a vital area is equally effective. To non vital areas, ineffective, to small but varying degrees. The metal state and chemically boosted/polluted blood stream of the target will have more effect on the outcome of the shooting then the caliber. Big bullets take up more room in mags and move slower, you can have more little ones and they move faster and shoot a bit flatter. If you really need to shoot something, use a rifle. Hows that? Saved you pages of read :)

If you can only have a 40 or a 45 handgun Going into a gunfight which one do you take?? Eight rounds in the 45 or 15 in the 40??? Hypothetically speaking of course

see my post. logically, you take the one with the most...heck, i'd prefer 19 rnds of 9mm....not that it will ever matter in Canada. And if I thought i was gonna need it, it would be the 30 rnds of M193 5.56 ;)
