Handgun ban making you rethink purchase

The thing is, If a Handgun ban does come about and without compensation, I already stand to loose at least $3000. That's why I am hesitant about purchasing another and like it or not the Lieberals will be back in power it's only a matter of time and then what do I say to the wife when she says all that money you spent on handguns is gone, look what you could have done to the house. It's hard justifying a big purchase if that purchase could be taken with the stroke of a pen.

I agree with GlockOperator,
Unlike the year 1995 when C 68 was introduced, I think the internet has done much to allow people who share a common belief to mobilize their efforts to fight for a common cause.
I believe any government that attempts to ban handguns outright will face a monumetal backlash from organized gun owners who will probably take their fight to the Supreme Court.
Also, fortunately, I do not see the Liberals forming a majority government anytime soon. The Conservatives have a stronghold in Western Canada, where the money and power is right now. Also, they have gained in Ontario and are slowing encroaching onto the GTA.
Quebec will always vote Bloc to protect their interests. I see a repeat of the last 3 elections for decades to come, and nothing this controversial will pass with a) a PC majority, b) a PC minority, C) any minority government.
Lastly, even if I am dead wrong and the Liberals form the next majority, the path of least resistance with be a 12-6 type of ban.
So stop worrying, start living, and buy as many as you can, because you may one day be unable to add to your collection. But not anytime soon in my very humble opinion
