This^^^^^^. In addition, they also know a gun ban will be a major failure; we all know it won't work. Gun crime will stay the same, costs of implementing any ban will go through the roof and taxpayers will once again go sideways with liberal mismanagement and hit them hard at the polls (see recent election in Ontario).
Heck, they don't even have the police on board with a ban!!
As already mentioned numerous time, the liberals are masters at deflection and they have far more serious issues going on at the moment.
Gun orgs, keep up the pressure. Sport shooters, stop worrying and start (continue) writing and calling your local politicians, all of them. And please, go out and enjoy your hobby!!

Well, the east has the majority of the population, largest percentage of liberal support and the majority of seats in parliament. If the Liberals think a handgun ban will play well east of the Manitoba/Ontario border I wouldn't discount the possibility.
If don't let our concerns known to the people pushing for the ban, then if will happen. We must do our best to be heard, so they know we're serious about not losing our "privileges".

Since i am in NH, my restricteds passed from 45 to 2, i was feeling kind of cheap to handle a legal fight with the govt so this weekend i bought 2 new pistols to bring my restricteds count to 4.

Send a letter to your local MP. Outline you concerns. Send it once a month. Get your friends to send it once a month. Get your mom to send it once a month. Let it be known that we are a strong and unified voice. We are not the problem, and hampering, hindering and ROBBING us of our personal and private property isn't going to stop gang shootings in Toronto nor is it going to stop crazy *&^%s from getting their hands on illegal weapons or simply driving their car down Young & Bloor on the sidewalk. The problem is so much more deeper than legal and law abiding people's activities.
I am going to be purchasing another AR and I've always wanted a Ruger GP100 in .357 so guess what I'm doing over the next couple of months? Putting my money where my mouth is. And I hope to take my first Buck this Nov too.
My first priority is the fact that my water proof, fire proof 1000 lb safe is full. Like stuffed full. I need to figure out how to make room! I don't break laws (even the ones that are so dumb it hurts) so as a legal, law abiding citizen I fully expect to be treated with the fullest of dignity and respect.
Disarming a population is a globalist agenda. We know the Turdo is one. At least Harper had the gonads to stand for Canada when the U.N tried to get us to put their serial tracking number on our imports. Wish we had him back.

It’s an emotional issue on both sides which brings out the worst in people and allows political points to be scored quickly and cheaply. I’m not advocating we sit quietly by, but instead just continue quietly going about our business and exposing people to sport shooting in a respectable manner. I’m highly involved at my range, am on the board of directors, have donated several “loaner” pistols, help keep the youth AP team going, and try to bring a new shooter or two out every week. If we turn 2 million owners into 3 million, etc. the problem will take care of itself.
All the anti-government, conspiracy, anti-police, “they’ll take my guns over my dead body” talk from some pro-firearm elements makes us look like the loonies the anti-gun folks say we are. Granted, I don’t feel overly threatened by the whole thing as I mostly shoot ISSF pistol, probably not first on the anti-gun hit list. Calm and rational thought with friendly exposure will get us much farther ahead than becoming combative.

Need to vote him out in 2019 though I’m not in the least convinced Scheer is the Shooting Sports Saviour you guys are hoping for.
I think he’s as spineless as a jellyfish and at the best will ignore us in the unlikely chance he gets elected PM. But being ignored is better than being persecuted by the Liberals.

If I could take a handgun hunting in Canada I’d buy one tomorrow.
Would love a light little 22LR revolver to strap on my belt to hunt rabbits and grouse.
My favourite bird/hare gun stateside is a Ruger single action revolver which has both a 22LR and 22WMR cylinder.
Under Canada’s current laws handguns are nothing but very expensive, highly regulated paper punches.
I can buy paper punches at Walmart that will punch 2 or 3 holes in a piece of paper at one time for less than $10 without going through all the BS which criminals just scoff at.

The ostensible target of the gun laws namely the criminals scoff at the ineffectiveness of these laws which they completely ignore. That’s why they call them criminals.
