Handgun break in, factory or handload?

If the handloads are known to be good quality, I would go with them or what is available. I don't think it is that important which you use.

IMO the break in for a handgun is maybe 200 to 300 rounds to get the metal parts smoothed out & settled in. I would suggest a cleaning & light oiling before you start.

factory 50 rounds to ck function, not accuracy- then handloads minimum to start, then on to full power - you may experience pressure signs BEFORE you get to full power
