handgun hunting in ontario info

ok folks so i sent an e-mail to the new ontario Minister of natural resources just after i moved to NS in regards to handgun hunting in ontario and here is the reply , a snail mailed reply at that..

Dear Mr. ###X

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the use of handguns for hunting. I am pleased to have the oppurtunity to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the various levels of government in this regard.

The reason that handguns are not permitted for use in hunting is that most handgu8ns are designated as restricted weapons. The carrying of restricted firearms is not permitted by the federal Firearms Act without an "autherization to transport." This statute and the supporting regulations and permit processes are administered by the federal government.

The ministry of Natural Resources regulates hunting activites, including species that may be hunted, seasons and limits. In some cases, for example, for the purposes of humane harvest of wildlife or public safety, we will regulate hunting equipment.

but just thought i would post this for you folks just to let you know that even though i aint an ontario troglidyte anymore i am still fighting the good fight for us all . or at least trying.

Geez, can't even get the facts straight. ATT for carrying? All they have to do is issue an ATC to licensed handgun hunters and they'd be good to go.

Yaaaaa, but like with the 649, we have to have a dream. We still keep buying tickets don't we, even when our chances amount to 1/2 of 5/8 of f**k all. If you don't try, there's no chance at all.
