...standard 50 cal ammo box...


...using the handle as a guide drill a centred hole in the box itself...


...using a tap wrench enlarge the original, drilled holes large enough to accommodate the lock...


...drill the inner trigger lock so that it will secure against the front plate with bolts...


...drill the front plate to match the holes in the inner part of the lock...

I did the same using a bolt with a jam nut on the outside underneath the latch, it takes up a bit less space in the interior, and takes about 5 minutes

...i'll cut some foam to accommodate a 1911 laid in on it's bbl and who knows what else?

...just signed up for my rpal on december 3...can't wait...6 hour drive down to take it but it'll be worth it!

...was just in the states for a week and drooled over the colt 1911's in the cases there

...trying to prepare the baby's new room!!! ;)
