I'm a total handgun shooter but was given an Anschutz 1451 Sporter
target rifle.
For those relaxing, lazy days I want to do some benchrest shooting at 50 and 100yds.
The rifle comes with an Anschutz aperature sight system.
I shot the rifle this week at 50 yds and was having trouble getting used to putting a target in the ring sight.
100 yds. was out of the question.
I'm in my 50's and wear bifocals
I'm thinking maybe I should scope this gun.
Any suggestions on a reasonably priced scope that I could shoot 50 and 100 yds. with.
Is 100 yds. a bit too far for the accuracy of this gun?
Any suggestions on scope mounts.
Any suggestions on any part of this rifle journey would be most welcome.

get a pair of normal glasses lol it's allot better option then a scope

you can also get them covered if you have coverage for glasses new scopes arn't just a thought

Nice! Jammy bastard! :)

100 yds is well within the capabilites of that gun, but sounds like scoping might be you best bet. I had to give up irons for the same reason.

Recommend you hang on to the apature site and sell it with the gun, should you ever sell it. Factory Anschutz irons can be worth quite a bit.

As for a scope, any 4x12x40 or 6x18-24x40 with adjustable objective would be perfect. I'm partial to Bushnell Legends and 3200 series Elites.

Depending what's on the gun, you may need a special site base. From memory, the 1451 comes with a grooved receiver, so tip-off rings might work.
