Thanks Phil, that's kind of what I thought. My Standard Catalog of Colt Firearms mentions the Nickle guns but for some reason only gives value ranges for RB, Matte SS and BSS Pythons. Maybe not a lot of Nickle finishes made?....or maybe not enough changing hands to establish values for the various condition grades?

Phil - the TEC guns were unique with a full lug (no milling), Manurhin-medallioned Nill grips and a few extras which easily justified the additional cost over the CSC guns. The TEC price is not a direct comparison.
Totally right Graham. Fair comparison is the only one left in stock at CSC. Still, it would come down to ~$3875 for a fellow in Ontario to have one landed. So a nice $625 (16%) saving for the exact same revolver in the exact same condition is what I consider a deal, don't you?
Personally, my handgun purchases and sales slow down in the summer for several reasons. First reason is that there are so many other things that takes priority such as Reno projects, car repairs, camping gear, boating gear, etc. 2nd, by the time summer comes around, I would have already spent my tax returns. 3rd the guns that I own, I use most often in the summer so If I sell, it will be in the fall or winter.
This might be the case for most people because, even though I don't buy or sell as much during the summer, I still keep an eye on the web sites for the one too good to be real deal that I will not be able to pass up. I am noticing that on a lot of the sponsors' web pages, inventory do not turn over as fast in the used gun department. Fewer people bring their guns to the store to sell so the same inventory remain on their site. Just my observation.

Yes, valid points.....and remember that businesses charge sales tax on used guns and even on consignment guns. I'm in a 15% HST province so on a high end used gun that can add hundreds to the price.
I'd agree but apparently the market doesn't. My MR88 at $1395 shipped is $746.35 off the landed tax in price for a TEC sourced 88 in Ontario .....that's almost 35% off and I've had zero interest. I'm thinking I'll delist it after another week or so and try again later in the year.
In regards to the TEC MR73's. They were indeed special order 5¾" heavy barrel from the .38 match version with barrel weight mounting holes on the underlug restamped "MR73 HB .357 Magnum". I personally prefer to have the original 6" version MR73 without any drilled holes on the underlug as I think it just ruins a beautiful revolver. On the other hand, if I needed/wanted a Match gun I would simply get the Match 38 as it's strictly made for competition and the barrel profile and added weight option is perfect on it.

I'll probably end up doing the same and when the last MR73 available in the country will sell at full price shortly I'll put mine back up with a $250 premium...
3200 USD is about $4200 CAD. That makes those $3499 guns from CSC look like a bargain. Thanks Phil, I feel better. Even with adding the Nills grips I'm still ahead on my 73!
Mine is the 5.25" version and I'm finding I really like the look and the way it balances. (Sorry for the crappy photos. I really so need to break down and replace my elderly IPhone)

16% is fair for sure. Point was - it isn't close to a legit 30% hit so don't feel too bad. These are all somewhat niche and a consign BNIB with medallioned Nills just sold at Prophet for 3250+tax, so that would have further narrowed the market. As you say, once the new ones on the market dry up, you might do better.
Your better off parting them out nobody seems to want fullnrifles anymore now their everybody is selling stripped uppers and lowers.
